COVID19 & “The Winterizer” Natural Cold & Flu Prevention

COVID19 is still a mystery at the time of this offering.  Now that the flu season is upon Us in the Northern Hemisphere, expect continued idiocy and carelessness to compound the spread of COVID19 (which has already mutated to COVID20).

This update to My original post is intended to give you an extra line of defense against this killer.  YES, COVID19 IS a killer – I have had the horror of trying to find a funeral home to bury a relative and I’ve lost several, good and valuable people who actually made positive contributions to society.

WEAR A MASK in public places, including hallways; elevators; and laundry rooms.  And wash your hands.  If you have a problem with that, may you soon have a reason to take this pandemic seriously and evolve your responsibility.

Every year, I remind the people on My Mailing Lists to prepare for the cold and cold & flu season with a natural preventive that is centuries (perhaps, even millennia) old.

The Winterizer is one of those “old wives’ remedies” that works wonders.

Before I began doing this treatment EVERY October, I suffered with 2-3 really bad colds and a few mini-annoyances per year, EVERY year.

IMMEDIATELY, the very first year that I “Winterized,” I did not suffer with wretched colds and was able to prevent a cold from coming on before it got me! Now, I barely get a sniffle during the entire winter!

I swear by this treatment and highly encourage you to give yourself this gift.

The principle is that when you coat your stomach with immune boosting, healthy oils that cleanse as well as protect, you strengthen your body’s ability to fight colds, flu, and viruses.  With the scare of COVID19 compounded by the flu, it can’t hurt to give your body some extra protection.

And if that’s not enough incentive for you to do this incredibly easy and inexpensive treatment, do it so that you’re not one of those selfish & annoying people who will sneeze, etc., all over the rest of Us because you didn’t take proper care of yourself!

NOTE:  I also gave this treatment to My dogs.  Considering body weight, administer the mixture accordingly: DAILY 1/2 tsp. for small dogs (20 lbs. & under), 1 tsp. for medium dogs, and 1 tbsp. for large dogs.  Be sure to check with your veterinarian and do the research to ensure that none of the ingredients may be harmful to your pet.

The Winterizer

From October 1-31st

The timing of The Winterizer treatment is important because the month of October (in the Northern Hemisphere) is when the weather traditionally begins to cool.

HOWEVER:

  • If you start a little later, be certain to complete 31 days of The Winterizer; and
  • If you miss a day, add a day to complete 31 days. Ideally, taking The Winterizer for 31 consecutive days is best.

Ingredients: Equal parts of (more product links below)

Olive Oil (First Cold Pressed is best)

Mineral Oil

Cod Liver Oil (preferably unflavored, but mint-flavored is less horrible tasting)

SHAKE WELL.  Take 2 tablespoons (for adults; 1 tablespoon for children under 12) of The Winterizer DAILY on an EMPTY stomach – BEFORE putting anything into your stomach (including water).  Store all oils in the refrigerator.

Tips:

  • Have a cup of something you enjoy to drink immediately after taking The Winterizer treatment to assist with the taste of the cod liver oil.
  • Holding your nose while swallowing assists in dealing with the cod liver oil taste.
  • Prior to taking, let The Winterizer mixture sit a few minutes after removing from refrigerator or set the bottle in warm water to liquefy.  The mixture goes down a lot easier without clumps of solid olive oil.
  • Keep The Winterizer mixture in a glass bottle.  The added taste of plastic can be unpleasant.  If you choose to use a plastic bottle, I recommend using a clear, water bottle (e.g., Poland Spring).
  • You will notice that bowel movements will improve – which is large part of why The Winterizer treatment works.  You will cleanse the intestines and colon, which allows for healthier digestion, which leads to strengthening your immune system. (The base of the immune system is in your digestive tract.)  You may also notice improvements in your skin and nails, shiny hair, as well as better mobility in joints and improvements in pain management.
  • If you miss a day, add a day to complete 31 days. Ideally, taking The Winterizer for 31 consecutive days is best.

Caution: Cod Liver oil contains large amounts of Vitamin A which can be toxic if taken to extremes.  Due to pollution, cod liver oil can contain contaminants such as mercury.   Mineral Oil can be a colon irritant and cause diarrhea when not properly administered.

This is why you should cease taking The Winterizer treatment after the 31st day (Halloween!)

I add today’s post as a bonus to My Kwanzaa 2013 Inspired Gift Series.  Every technique that I have given in this Series is a “recipe” for Self-Care and Love: what I term, “Love Me Recipes.”

I believe that it is Our duty to be as beautiful and as pleasant as possible in the Way We Present Ourselves to The World.  This is best achieved through Self-Love & Care.  So, below are some of My Physical Love-Me Recipes that help Me to feel fabulous and look it, too!  These recipes are quick, easy, cost-effective, and excellent for everyone, so, gentlemen, make Us happy to see (and touch) you, too!

EVERY recipe I’ve listed below is part of My regular, Love Me Pleasure Regimen.

Baking Soda Magic

The benefits of baking soda are incredible!  From hair and body care to a myriad of home care and improvement uses, baking soda is one of the most cost-effective and beneficial products you can keep in your home.  A brand name, baking soda is not necessary to achieve the benefits.

Tooth Whitener, Gum Toner & Bad Breath Cure

One of the things I find most disgusting is bad oral hygiene and revolting, stink breath.  I immediately dismiss people from My presence for these offenses not just because they offend My olfactory system, but because there is always a guarantee that their lack of attention to their bodies will offend Me in the future.  Smells trigger memory and cognition actually influences perception, so there’s one good point for the notion that first impressions are lasting.  This recipe not only fights gum disease, it safely whitens teeth and freshens breath.  Your smile is one of the nicest and first things that people notice about you, so have a white & pearly one!  Twice a day:

  • 1/2 teaspoon of baking soda
  • a pinch of salt
  • 5-10 drops of hydrogen peroxide

Form a thick paste and brush your gums and the gum line with a soft toothbrush (to prevent scraping tooth enamel), rinse.  Also, gently brush your tongue.  See Top 10 ways to fight bad breath.

Soft Facial (& Body) Scrub

Depending upon the season, I combine a variety of ingredients with baking soda to make body scrubs and bath recipes.  Here are a few of My favorites:

Gentle Exfoliating Scrub for bath and showerMix 3 parts baking soda with 1/2 part salt (for example, 3 cups baking soda with 1/2 cup salt) and store in a water-proof container (plastic soup containers work great).  Soap up your body (I recommend using a glycerine soap), pour a palm-full of mixture into your hand and mix with a few drops of water to make a medium-textured paste.  GENTLY rub your body from head to toe.  Rinse, dry, and apply moisturizer.  During the winter months, I may add a drop of virgin olive oil for extra moisturizing and to slough off extra-dry skin cells.   Use 1-3 times weekly.  You can also use this recipe as a daily foot scrub —  and by all means, get pedicures and take care of your feet!

Bath Balm:

Mix 1 cup of baking soda with 1 cup of salt (regular salt is fine) to a warm bath of water.  Soak for 15 minutes (or more) and gently wash from head to toe with a bath sponge (or scrungie).  Rinse, dry, and moisturize.  I soak in the tub with candles and lovely music (classical, jazz) playing and I make this MY TIME FOR ME.  You can also add herbal teas (I often use teabags to avoid extra clean-up) for desired affects, e.g., chamomile and/or lavender for relaxation before bed for better sleep; vanilla for instant mood boost; lemon for an energy pick-up, etc.

Baking Soda Face Wash:

For a glowing complexion and healthy skin, My favorite facial wash is with a thin paste of baking soda.  I cleanse first and do an extremely gentle scrub with approximately 1/2 teaspoon of baking soda mixed with enough water to make a fine-textured, thin paste.  Using circular motions and avoiding the delicate skin around the eyes, I use only the fingertips of My middle and ring fingers (which are designed to perfectly fit the contours of your face without stretching your skin) to GENTLY massage My face.  Rinse with warm water, pat dry, and moisturize.  Repeat 1 – 2 times a week.  If you notice a burning sensation, you are probably rubbing your skin too hard.  However, see tips in the article below.

Chillout

Lately, people seem to be experiencing a lot more stress…  So, here is something natural, wonderful, safe – and you can even use it for your pets: Rescue Remedy (Bach Flower Remedies).  This mix was created to deal with emergencies and crises. The Tapping Solution

Please NOTE that I swear by this technique for Myself and it totally works for Me and everyone who chooses to work it. It is a physiological-neurolinguistic technique that you can learn in less than 4 minutes (see video). There is an accompanying book and a movie, both of which I found value in, but you don’t need them to get started and achieve immediate results.  This technique interrupts psycho-kinetic patterns (conscious/subconscious-physical) that create chemical responses in Our bodies which We interpret as stress, fear, panic, confusion, depression, etc. The technique then permits you to re-pattern your response by identifying and acknowledging your process that triggers the negative responses.  With practice and choice, you can trigger positive chemistry, emotions, and responses.
